thursday tunes

new favorite   meet campbell the band. i first heard about them through my friend mindy. she is now married to a former member of campbell, daniel. the original campbell disbanded but in the last year or two they have come back together - with a slight change of members and a slightly different style. the band consists of matt padgett, grant harding, cole moser, michael finster & dominic geralds. some of my favorite songs of theirs include "get brave" and "through your veins" off their ep "bear with us". so take a look at their website, listen to them on their myspace and like them on facebook. you can buy their music here. the best part is they have a big show tomorrow night at amos' southend. you don't wanna miss it. its only $8.. details here and here. check out the promo video here. hope to see you there tomorrow night!

old favorite   meet adele laurie blue adkins, otherwise know as adele. she is just fabulous. i adore her completely. i can't exactly remember how i heard about her but i remember it was mainly from my friend liz. she was an instant favorite of mine. her talent is just incredible and i adore her old timey voice. i love her cd "19" with favorites off of it like "melt my heart to stone" and "first love". her new cd "21" just came out, i bought it yesterday and already love it. so if you haven't listened to adele before please check her out.. you'll love her. wander over to her website, like her on facebook, and you can buy her music here. enjoy!

in other news...

* i am a little over halfway through jane eyre and loving it more every day. i forgot how good it was. to those of you who have read it, i'm at the part where mrs. reed has just passed away after revealing to jane that she has a rich uncle who wants to adopt her. exciting times.

* watched a fantabulous movie last night - "the romantics". when i put it on our netflix queue i thought it looked excellent was excited to watch it but little did i know that it would include in the story one of my most favorite of poems, "ode to a nightingale"... this instantly booted this movie to favorite status. but even apart from the poem, the movie is so completely genuine and real and the acting and chemistry so fantastic. plus it ends perfectly. LOVED it. check it out.

* i continually sang "at last" all last night. considering i only know the first part to the song it was probably most boring for my household but i had fun. also have had "forget you" stuck in my brain forever. but hey.. both fun songs. nothing like a good song you can just belt out at top volume.

* i am still super excited about rekindle 2011 coming up. also very much looking forward to being on early crew and going up early to set up everything. this is going to be fun.

* we had such nice weather i am ready for spring. but today is rainy and a little chilly again today. bummer. please bring back the nice weather!

and thats about it. enjoy your thursday!

love,

charlotte
