love.

today is valentine's day.

i've been pretty grumpy about v-day this past week leading up to today, but now the day is here.. i'm excited! i love valentine's day. its the best. who cares if you are married, engaged, dating or single? as a friend mentioned to me today, valentine's is just a very loving day.

now sure you may harp on how "commercial" it is.. but hey - all the good holidays are commercialized. but hey - don't be a grump.. today is about loving people. even tho i'm single i have lots of people to love today and you probably do too.

love has so many different facets. you can love your mom. you can love friends. you can love starbucks. you can love LOST. there are lots of things to love and each thing has a specific kind of love. the bible describes love this way:

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." - 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

"By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." - John 13:35

and tonight when mom and dad are having their valentine's dinner i'm gonna go see blue valentine. i'm excited to see this movie.. love michelle williams. i'm also looking forward to seeing a few random couples accidentally see this as part of valentine's and have it totally kill their love buzz. newsweek called it the movie not to take a date to. lol.
